Brief History of U.S. Interventions

A Brief History of US Interventions presents an enormous chalkboard on which a brief genealogy of 163 US interventions throughout the world, from 1801 to 2006, is handwritten. On one side of the mural is a shelf holding chalk and erasers, inviting viewers to rewrite this history or insert addendums, rationales, and excuses. The work was conceived to evolve over time, with an incalculable range of potential outcomes. It asks: How much do we know, and how much do we care to remember?
